B’nai Brith Sponsors World Malaria Day
Once again, B’nai Brith sponsors World Malaria Day. World Malaria Day, April 25th, is celebrated globally each year. Kingston, Ontario is the first city in Canada to recognize World Malaria Day. The theme for World Malaria Day 2012, “SUSTAIN GAINS: SAVE LIVES: INVEST IN MALARIA”, acknowledges the advances made in malaria prevention and control, and reminds the world community that sustaining malaria control efforts is an investment in economic development. “We are delighted that B’nai Brith, with their ongoing annual support of World Malaria Day, recognizes the importance of halting this disease to save lives to advance development and sustainability measures,” said Gail Fones, Chair of the Board. “Malaria causes poverty and poverty causes malaria; it’s a viscous cycle that can be stopped with investment from all sectors,” continued Fones. “Together we can realize a malaria free world which will bring greater hope for mothers and their children in Africa.”
