Buy-A-Net, Save a Life. It’s easy!  So how exactly do you get involved?
What if you want to do more than make a donation?  We need your help to spread the word that $6 Bucks can save a life!
( for the price of a movie rental or a grande latte you can save a family of 4!)
Have others join the movement! We want to make it easy to get your friends, family & community involved in Buy-A-Net.

Help by creating awareness

  • Tell your friends and family about Buy-A-Net
  • Join our group and cause on Facebook
  • Add us as a link to your website
  • Make and put up flyers about us, and your events
  • Use your influence and network; send messages and announcements about Buy-A-Net to your friends and family
  • Create a viral email campaign, download an e-mail attachment
  • Contact local school newspapers, church bulletins and other publications to create awareness about Buy-A-Net
  • Go to group meetings that may be interested in supporting Buy-A-Net and talk them about the effort. Local religious institutions, clubs and community service groups are great options
  • Put up posters and distribute them at events, in classrooms, and at meetings. Other ideas include putting up posters at coffee shops, student unions, YMCA, and local stores. Make sure you ask for permission if you’re unsure what the rules are
  • Start a club at your school or university
  • Get media coverage by sending out a press release

Start fundraising

There are many innovative ways that you can drum up support for Buy-A-Net. Here are some great event ideas:

  • Pot-luck dinners, office parties and birthdays dedicated to Buy-A-Net
  • Dances, movie nights, pizza parties and charge an entrance fee
  • Karaoke parties
  • At school have penny/bottle drives, or crazy dress days
  • Put up lemonade stands, yard and bake sales
  • Auctions have items donated from local businesses or handcrafted pieces made by a group of friends
  • Hold a concert with local musicians
  • Wine tasting events
  • Have a car wash
  • Barbecue, pool or bowling tournaments
  • Save up your allowance and donate it to Buy-A-Net
  • Hold walk/read/dance/run-a-thons
  • Fun-fair; playing games, face-painting, all for nets
  • Any sport makes for a good fundraiser: Have a game and charge an entrance fee

Nets make great hostess, thank you, teacher, and wedding gifts or wedding favors.

Organizing an event?

Fill out our fundraising event registration form and send it into our office.
If you have an event where you collect monies from individuals and plan to send one cheque/money order in the amount of the total funds raised, it is best to keep records of the individual’s name and amount for income tax receipt purposes.  Please use the donation record form.

Speaking Engagements Fee
BUY-A-Net Malaria Prevention Group is thankful for the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for bed nets and anti-malarial medicines.  We do not charge to have a representative speak at your engagement.
We do ask from those hosting each event to cover the cost of travel expenses. For use of personal vehicle, we ask for $0.50/km or flight expenses, as well as any necessary accommodations and incidental costs.
