Successful day on Parliament Hill 2009
The Buy-A-Net , malaria prevention team organized and attended the all party reading of the statements again this year. The Honorable Peter Milliken MP kindly held a reception to highlight World Malaria Day that featured the debut of Worlds Collide; paintings by artist Heather Haynes.
This moving and beautiful spring works was inspired by her recent trip to net villages in Uganda along with 15 other volunteers.
Founder Debra Lefebvre’s morning was most gratifying building more momentum and awareness
attending sessions notably with Canadian Nursing Association and Red Cross and others determined to make malaria history.

To cap it off opposition leader Mr. Ignatieff was kind enough to meet briefly with the group and even
took a moment for a visit with he children that had also been on the netting trip last fall.
Whitney and the two Emma’s formed kids talking to kids and now tour local schools as speakers, advocates and fundraisers.
Chris Wyman Kingston’s most famous of town criers lent his eloquent presence to the occasion.
