Our Lady of Fatima School Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Elementary School, Ottawa Ontario – choose to raise funds for malaria prevention. They held a pancake breakfast, a penny carnival, sold raffle tickets, and had weekly draws.

The 282 Students @ Our Lady of Fatima Raised $2,000 for Buy-A-Net!

They are giving 300 nets to the Ugandan district of Kawempe and saving over 1,300 lives from malaria.

The trip to Rulagwe, Uganda truly affirmed to me the important of the work done by Buy-A-Net. I had struggled with the idea of volunteering because whose job was it to impose Western values on those in developing countries, yet the experience I had in Rulagwe showed me that in the case of malaria it is not about the imposition of Western values but about the importance of how a little education can go along in keeping people healthy.
