World Malaria Day 2009 Kingston a Huge Success!
Kingston citizens, Buy-A-Net supporters, sponsors and the largest turn out of public dignitaries to date graced the
opening of the second annual World Malaria Day of events, advocacy and day of fund raising.
All proceeds go directly to purchase more mosquito nets for the children and families of Kawempe District Uganda.
Senator Mobina Jaffer who was born in Uganda said it best when she turned to thank Mayor Harvey Rosen for the many caring citizens of Kingston and area who are not only sponsoring nets, they are also raising the awareness and
support of Municipal, Provincial and Federal levels constantly.
This year we saw the first ever all party reading of the statements in support of malaria prevention. We also received the proclamations of over fifty municipalities across Canada.
